If any other service provider tried to get me to sign up for a 24 month contract I would shamelessly laugh in their faces…..so why is it when presented with a shiny new phone, I would happily sign away my children….

It’s the magpie effect. It affects the part of the brain that thinks logically and can result in a two-year spell of always seeming to pay more for your phone than your friends do.. Gets me everytime.
Mug ^_^ I buy handsets were I can SIM free and use a month-by-month contract. Now that iPhones are available contract-free in HK, that’s what my upgrade path will be there as well.
